I've owned many yoga mats in my life, and this one is my favorite. I sweat a lot during yoga, and this mat is perfect for that. The top material is really soft and absorbs the sweat. It's super thick so feels great on joints. I am very happy with this purchase, and had debated it because of cost. I am happy I spent the money. :)I was skeptical about paying this much. It's perfect for hot yoga. I don't slip at all. The quality is amazing and I have had it for a few months so I can say it's held up so far.Me gusta la calidad del Mat, lo uso a diario y el material es resistente. It is a little heavy but I love it!I had not purchased a mat because I didn't want to buy one that would go bad and would want to discard eventually. My vision was zero waste. This fits the bill. Quality. I bought the 6ft version one for my toddler as well so it should last for always. I spray it down spraying on the towel first and then rubbing the towel throughout the mat. I can't say enough good things. I don't do any intense yoga. It can be somewhat slippery but it does help to wet it a little. For reference, I bought the thickest option.The wetter the mat gets, the easier it is to grip. Easy to clean. Does attract a little dust or lint, but it's worth the trade off. I was surprised at how quickly my sweat absorbed into the mat. I had no idea how much I was moving the towel around my previous mat until I started using this one.I plan on using it 3 or 4 times a week for hot yoga; it seems like a high quality mat that will last.I bought 4 different mats and kept having issues with slipping during my hot yoga classes. This mat keeps me in place even with down dog. I love it so much and was worth the higher price.This mat is not only beautiful, it soft, it thick, it is comfortable. I 100% recommend it! It can definitely be used for nap time too lolSo I spent weeks looking for a yoga mat - and read about 4000 reviews on Amazon of all different types of mat - most of which had good reviews but then a few reviews that they smelled funny or were slippery or too thick for balance work or too thin to be comfortable... Minefield!!!In the end, I went for this one thinking there were pros and cons too all mats, but at least this looked great too! But having received it I'm sooo glad I went for it! So much nicer than the rubbery mats, this one has no funny smell, feels so soft to sit and lie on, looks beautiful (so many compliments and enquiries at class!) and is the perfect thickness for balance and floor work (I see lots of others have to step off their mats or use extra padding at times). It's true this mat is slippery when dry, it's a bit like suede to the touch, but it's designed to not be slippery when wet so you don't slip when you sweat, unlike other mats that get worse over a workout. I just take a little spray bottle (old hair product one) full of water and give it a spray before class and the grip then is incredible - you just lock in place! I occasionally have to give another quick spray during a session - but it's nice and cooling anyway so it's no problem. Would highly recommend and would never go back to a smelly, squeaky foam mat again!This yoga mat costs a bit more than any other I've bought in the past, but it's worth the price-hike.The design is stunning and subtle enough as not to distract from peaceful practise, and sets the right mood (for me at least). The top layer is beautifully soft, and surprisingly grippy when sprayed lightly with water which is so helpful in stopping slipping during those trickier Asanas.I also love the anti-roll nature of the mat - it doesn't matter how long it's rolled up for, when you unroll it onto the floor the ends stay flat! This was a real issue with my old mat, and I'm glad I no longer have to do battle with a disobedient rubber rug while I'm also struggling with my peace of mind.I recommend to all my yoga buddies. I recommend to you too!This is a very good mat. It has excellent friction, as long as you sweat, which I do. At 3.5mm it is thinner than many mats and might not provide enough padding if you have sensitive joints and you're on a very hard floor e.g. concrete. On balance however I think that this is the right thickness - a second mat could be placed underneath if needed.My only criticism is the lack of a larger size. I'm 185cm high (6 foot 1 inch) and when doing shavasana I just fit on the mat with heels right at one end and head resting right at the other. Usually I have to shuffle up or down a bit to fit.185cm isn't that big these days, anyone taller wouldn't be able to fit at all. 10cm more length, perhaps as an optional extra, would make it more suitable for tall people.GREAT yoga mat, purchased this as a middle ground between the Liforme mat and the cheaper mats as this ticked the middle price ground.Can highly recommend this mat - i LOVE having a patterned mat and the colours on this are really vibrant.The fabric of the mat surprised me...its almost a suede feel which is perfect for extra grip and doesn't get slippy when i do hot yoga!Someone i spoke to in my class put her Geo Combo mat in the washing machine, i haven't tried this but she does it regularly to clean it!Although it's quite heavy and bit harder due to its thickness compared to my previous mats, Yoga Design Lab's combo mat improved my workout in so many ways.I'm practicing asthanga and pilates at home on a daily basis. Sweating is granted, so I always had to use an extra layer of towel, it's needless to say it wasn't really stable. With the first moves I felt this will be something different, the plushy-like touch holds you exactly where you put your hands and feet. Every pose get instantly more precisely executed. I hadn't worry about sweat drops anymore, the towel like material absorbs it right away and provides even better grip as well. Letting it dry for a few hours before rolling up is enough, I'm also willing to machine wash it on the next resting day, I can imagine it's up for the challange.To sum it up, if you don't have to carry your mat every day with you and you don't mind if the surface is not from the soft kind, this is a great choice for your advanced sessions. The design and the quality totally worth every penny.
